Annual General Meeting 2011

MINUTES

1.  Review and accept minutes from 2010 AGM

a.  Brian Edmison moved to accept the minutes from last year. Jim Hinchcliffe seconded. Carried.

b.  Additions to today’s agenda – Agenda adopted as amended.

2.  President’s Report – it was a quiet year from the president’s report. Al spoke of hydro line refund and the great skiing that we had from the beginning of the year!!! Not much else to report

3.  Treasurer’s Report

a.  Hydro Line Refund

b.  Ryan Cleever motioned to receive treasure’s report. Seconded by Carl Dykstra. Carried.

4.  Signing Authorities – Jim Hinchcliffe moved that Al McCreary, Sandra Hinchcliffe, and Sheila Smith would have signing authority on the bank accounts.

5.  Ski Area Report

a.  Nancy – the lifts were open on the hill during the august. The hill did a good business during this time and will be open again on the weekends during this upcoming summer. Nancy has handed out the 10 rules of engagement laminated and has asked that all the cabin owners take a copy of this so that cabin owners, and their guests will know what is expected of them. Nancy announced that a screening of the movie, “The Grey” would be on January 27, 2012 at the Roi Theatre in town.

b.  Chrissy – the Mountain Market is up and running again this year. If you need some groceries to get you through the weekend, please come to the Lounge. The Whiskey Jack Lounge is hosting dinner on January 14, and dates TBA in February and March. The last one will have the lifts operating at 18:00 so that those that having dinner will be able to ski late.

c.  Lorne and Mark – Mark went over the 10 rules of engagement again, in the yearly tradition. Please let your guests know about the rules of engagement. Most often, if there are problems with the guests not knowing the rules and it is the responsibility of the cabin owners to make sure that their guests know the rules and abide by them. Mark and Lorne both to the Upper Parking Lot congestion and that they are hesitant to tow vehicles. They believe that it should be a cabin owner’s solution to the issue, and the Cabin community decision to fix it. Tag a bag program – 5$ per bag and the Hill will dispose of your garbage. Lorne spoke to the development of the new neighborhood. He states that they are making slow incremental gains in the progress of the development and are hoping to push a road in this spring. The mountain is super excited about the amount and quality of the snow that we have had in the beginning of the season. Lorne spoke to the new egress trail that was cut over the summer. It is an access for patrollers to get to area users that need help, but it is still out of the ski area boundaries. The trail has been flagged but not signed.

6.  New Business

a.  Parking at the Top – discussed above.

7.  Election of Officers – no names came forward to take the position of President and Treasurer. Therefore, Al and Sheila will stay on in these positions.
